Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf Bucket Repair

Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf, the high tech state of the art repair center inaugurated last April in Abu Dhabi, has completed a set of GE Frame 9E first stage buckets for a primary Customer located in the United Arab Emirates using the new advanced equipment and state of the art refurbishment technologies.

Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf is the first Repair Center in the Middle East able to execute the whole cycle of bucket refurbishment, ranging from Initial Assessment, Chemical Stripping, Metallurgical Evaluations, Non Destructive and Destructive Testing, Coatings, Heat Treatments and Dynamic Sequencing. This important milestone has been achieved after having qualified all the new processes and having established the Best Practice procedures for this line of business. This set of buckets had 48.000 EOH when received and presented some Blade Tip and angel-wing damage that were repaired by Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf. In addition to this set of GE buckets, Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf is already repairing sets of Ansaldo blades for local customers.
