Ansaldo ESG received an award for the repair of damaged Steam Turbine Rotor and Generator

Ansaldo ESG received an award at 1st quarter of 2011 for the repair of damaged Steam Turbine Rotor and Generator from the public utility Volta River Authority in Ghana. The 110 MW steam turbine unit is part of a 330 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (2x2x1) for which Ansaldo Thomassen received an LTSA contract. The rotor was send to the Ansaldo ESG workshop in Würenlingen Switzerland for straightening of the bent rotor. Other checks were done including checking the life span condition of the LP Blades.

 

 

 

Ansaldo ESG expertise includes experience in the overhauling, repair and machining of rotors and other major components of the product like steam turbines and generators. Upon completion of the fact findings replacement of all the ninety four LP-0 blades (See picture of one blade) became necessary due to few low pressure blades already having cracks and many others eroded. For this repair the Client issued a purchase order for additional work activity which is planned to execute in the Ansaldo ESG workshop. Ansaldo ESG is supported by Ansaldo Energia in all aspects for guaranteeing a successful service quality to our esteem Customer Volta River Authority.
 

Simultaneously Ansaldo ESG are preparing the shipment of the mobile lathe for on the job site machining of the generator rotor journal bearings at the Takoradi combined cycle power plant facility.
