Role Title: Product Engineer
Function Base: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Function

• To develop and maintain Heavy Industrial Gas Turbine products (Buckets, Vanes and Combustion components) and procedures through the development of new repairs and existing repairs, in accordance with approved data, quality system procedures and good industrial standards. This would be under the guidance of the Engineering Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitoring of all products within production, and supporting production as and when required.
• Troubleshooting, addressing and defining solutions to technical problems in the Production Repair Cell.
• Responsible for Project Managing and the introduction of New Products into the Production Repair Cell, with a clear focus on project deadlines and budgetary controls
• Compiling engineering reports both internally and externally for customers.
• Responsible for control the Bill of Materials associated with all repair orders.
• Responsible for all tooling and fixturing associated with the product grouping.
• Responsible for the creation of shop floor travelers (Router Cards).
• Ensuring the promotion and awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
• Driving cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives in the production environment.
• Identify and address training requirements.
• Promote good environmental practices within the facility (waste reduction & recycling)

Person Specifications

• Recognised qualification in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
• Appropriate experience with a minimum of three (3) years work experience in a Turbine Repair Workshop.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Good Report writing skills. Demonstrate satisfactory managerial skills
